Generally, WELL testing fees are not flat rates as cost of delivery is shaped by local market dynamics. Across the industry, pricing fluctuates based on travel distances to the site, regional labor rates for environmental engineers, and local laboratory fees.
Calculator Note: Because these costs fluctuate, our calculator outputs an estimated range rather than a fixed quote. We base these estimates on baseline market rates in Europe and Asia (but in Euros) to give you a realistic idea of what you should budget for the verification phase.
Under IWBI guidelines, a complete performance verification covers four main phases for any project:
Mobilisation: The logistics of deploying specialised equipment and personnel to your site.
Onsite Testing: Active environmental sampling (air, water, light, sound, thermal comfort) by an authorized agent.
Laboratory Analysis: Physical samples are sent to an accredited lab. Note: The extent of lab testing depends entirely on the specific WELL features and optimisation levels your project is pursuing.
Reporting: The agent compiles and submits the performance data directly to IWBI for review. Our calculator accounts for all four of these phases to estimate your total verification cost.
According to IWBI, onsite performance testing must be conducted by an approved WELL Performance Testing Agent (PTA) who does not have a conflict of interest with the project’s consulting team.
